Netball South Africa
Netball in South Africa has shown tremendous growth over the last few years, moving from 12 live games in 2012, to over 80 games live on SuperSport in 2017. With the launch of the Netball Quad Series, and the continuing growth of the Brutal Fruit Netball Premier League, SPAR Netball Challenge and the Diamond Challenge, Netball has truly established itself as the number one women’s sport in South Africa.
COSAFA is the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations and is responsible for managing 5 tournaments annually across different age groups and genders. COSAFA brings together 14 nations of Southern Africa under a single umbrella, and prides itself on providing a platform for future stars to showcase their potential.
The EWT Senior Golf Series
The Endangered Wildlife Trust and the South African Senior Golf Tour have collaborated to create a Series for the benefit of the environment by raising awareness for our wildlife and the danger they are in. This Series, dubbed “The EWT Senior Golf Series”directly raise funds for the Endangered Wildlife Trust, which will be used to conserve our environments and protect the endangered species in Africa.
Squash South Africa
Squash South Africa is looking forward forward to a big year ahead for 2017. Tsogo Sun and Dunlop Sport have continued their support for Squash South Africa and will aim to elevate the level of the sport in the country with the upcoming events.
Squash fans will be delighted with the return of the Open Championship for the first time in South Africa since 1985. The SA Open Championship, together with the Jarvis Kaplan Cup and SA Nationals will be held back to back across the months of June and July for a feast of squash action in the Gauteng region.
City Surf Series
Fresh off Surfing being added as an Olympic Sport for Tokyo 2020, Surfing South Africa (SSA) and the World Surf League (WSL) have combined to launch the City Surf Series. Commencing in 2017, The City Surf Series will feature both local and international talent, while combing Men, Women and Youth surfing competitions for a truly one of a kind event.
Heading to the cities of Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, East London and Durban, the Series will then conclude with the best of the best competing for the Volkswagen SA Open of Surfing crown.
