Growthpoint SA Open Squash Championship Boosted By Three New Partners

Squash South Africa are proud to welcome three new sponsors for the Growthpoint SA Open Squash Championship that will be taking place from 6 – 11 August 2018 in Pretoria. Mimecast, Adcock Ingram and Imperial Logistics have all committed as category partners and is an indication of the increased interest in the sport rated the world’s healthiest sport by Forbes Magazine.

The PSA Challenger Tour event will host 22 international competitors alongside 18 South African athletes with the opening rounds played at Pretoria Country Club and then Quarters through to Finals then moving to Brooklyn Mall where a glass court will be erected with free access to shoppers to a truly unique sporting event.

Cyber Resilience company Mimecast, offers cloud services for email security, archiving and continuity. This enables them to protect, manage and archive without compromise and prevent security breaches, data leaks and email-based attacks. A leader in their industry with a significant international footprint, it is easy to see their reasoning for partnering with this international event.

This sponsorship is the opportunity to be involved in a truly unique event what we are most excited about is the access the public will have to an international sporting event in Brooklyn Mall,“ says Gillian Elson, Field Marketing Manager for Mimecast.

Upon hearing about Squash’s title as the world’s healthiest sport, it was a no-brainer and an obvious fit for one of the leading brands within Adcock Ingram’s OTC portfolio, Vita-thion®. It is a great opportunity to partner with the event and allow athletes to perform at their peak performance level for longer.

Catherine Makumsha, Brand Manager for Vita-thion®, said “Vita-thion® is an energy supplement for people who want more of the body’s source of energy to keep them going throughout the day. Taking Vita-thion® not only gives you energy to see you through a busy day, but it also helps with the maintenance of good health and vitality.”

Squash has the unique ability to place a glass court almost anywhere in the world, with some incredible locations used around the world. Moving the court is no easy feat though and Imperial Logistics have come on board as the official logistics partner, using their un-rivalled experience to ensure the glass court is safely and securely delivered to Brooklyn Mall.

“With the ideals of customise, collaborate and compete at the heart of our brand, this partnership with Squash SA was a perfect fit for Imperial Logistics,” says Chief Strategy Officer, Cobus Rossouw.

Steve Doeg, president of Squash SA emphasized the value these partners bring to the event, “We are delighted to add Mimecast, Vita-thion® and Imperial Logistics to our family of partners for the Growthpoint SA Open Squash Championships, each brings with them a clear link to the sport and we hope to build on these relationships going forward as Squash in South Africa continues to grow from strength to strength.”
