Case Studies

Among the projects that Accelerate is currently involved in or have just completed, are:

Netball South Africa (NSA)

Accelerate Sport was appointed by Netball South Africa (NSA) as the Marketing and Sponsorship agent in March 2012. Accelerate Sport assisted NSA in branding themselves and strategically positioning netball as a sport with potential to becoming one of the most successfully run sport businesses. Accelerate Sport has assisted NSA in reviewing and articulating their vision to be pursued through a clearly-mapped out plan of action. We have assisted in identifying and bringing on board appropriate partners to complement NSA’s core business through maximizing the limited financial resources, by adding value and compensating for limited financial sponsorship.

Annual TOPS at SPAR Bierfest

The Annual TOPS at Spar Bierfest has become a sought after festive event from September to November each year. As the commercial agents, Accelerate Sport deliver sound benefits to our founding partners, South African Breweries (SAB), Tsogo Sun and TOPS at SPAR. The event takes place in Johannesburg (Montecasino), Durban (Suncoast Casino) and Cape Town (Newlands Brewery) with an expansion to other national cities in pipeline.

The events is held over a 3-day period per city. A unique German and Bavarian cultural experience with dressed up frauliens, memorable merchandise and some of the finest imported recipes brewed under the license by SAB specifically for the event.

Commercial Rights of British & Irish Lions

Accelerate Sport was involved in the British & Irish Lions Tour in 2009, with the implementation and management of the commercial rights programme. This involved a full time presence with the team, for the duration of their seven week tour of SA, to ensure that all the sponsors’/suppliers’ commercial rights were protected.

Rugby Town 2007

A highly successful project was the creation and operation of Rugby World Cup 2007’s single-largest “fan park”, known as Rugby Town, which was situated at the Trocadero in Paris (close to the Eiffel Tower), and which attracted in excess of half a million fans during the tournament. The success of this project stands Accelerate Sport in good stead to launch significant bids to provide such facilities for future major international events.

FIFA – 2010 Soccer World Cup
