Triumph, the lingerie brand, has signed a sponsorship deal with Netball SA to provide high performance apparel to the SPAR Proteas side.
The product sponsorship of the SPAR Proteas Side is a first for Triumph SA. The endorsement though is one of a number that Netball SA has secured over the past year including Mitre, Tsogo Sun, Fiat and SPAR.
Lizette Kellerman, triaction by Triumph marketing manager said: ‘Triumph South Africa is proud to have sponsored each member of the SPAR Proteas Side with a triaction by Triumph sports bra or sports crop top best suited to their body type. Netball is one of the fastest-growing women’s sports in South Africa so we’re thrilled to be putting our brand behind the top players in the country.’
Kellerman added: ‘ It’s imperative for women to wear the correct sports bra size and bra styles that feature technically advanced design and superior fabrication in order to prevent premature sagging and the risk of damaging the sensitive ligaments under the bust during sport.’
Netball SA CEO Blanche de la Guerre said the federation was pleased to have signed a deal with an international brand: ‘We in Netball are confident of taking the sport into a new era in which we bring women’s sport on par with their male counterparts. A partnership with the iconic Triumph brand is an indication that we are moving in the right direction.’
De la Guerre continued: ‘Not only are our national teams forcing their way up the international pecking order, but our development structures are unearthing new talent all the time. It’s a wonderful time for netball and with new sponsors such as Triumph seeing the value in our sport the future is certainly very bright.’
